Researchers use supercomputer. They help police find child pornography distribution.


Researchers from Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Tennessee using the super computer named Jaguar to help the police to find them published child pornography on the Internet. The distribution of file formats, and peer-to-peer file sharing, such as the Web.

The Jaguar supercomputer at the 1.8 petaflop, which is to check the information that is passed each other on the Internet. And search for suspicious patterns that are distributing the files related to child pornography and store the IP of the machine in question and inform the police to go check.

Researchers propose to use super computer. Help to find the culprit. After that met with Grier Weeks Executive director of the National Association to Protect Children, which said that the police are having problems in managing offenders. The difficulty of finding the guilty and the number of people who do not work enough.

The supercomputer used to help this is better than the old system. The only catch the people posting or publishing pornographic images only.
